tweetz Update #13

This version (1.5) marks the transition to using OAuth to access your account. This mostly changes how you login. I’ve detailed the procedure in a previous post if you need a step by step guide.

tweetz

I’ve made a number a tweeks to the interface and the code, hopefully for the better. The bug where the gadget sometimes gets confused about what size it wants to be on startup has also been fixed.

Available on the downloads page.

Great update! Huge thanks for this, it's by far my favourite Twitter gadget for windows 7.

Nice gadget, but I really don't like this font. Can I change it on my computer?

After OS loading the bottom part of gadget is empty - have to minimize\maximize to restore.

I have the same problem as Vladimir. I have my height set to 1030 pixels (expanded), and when I start the computer the bottom part of the gadget is blank.

Is there any way to change the font? I liked the other font better.

I had the same problems when I tried to use gadget from under proxy server at my workplace. Do you have a proxy?

Not sure why you're having an issue. It's impossible for me to test every system configuration out there. It does work with proxies and it's working for tens-of-thousands of others. That's not to say there isn't a bug here but that there's something about your configuration that I have not accounted for. I'm in the middle of a complete rewrite of the gadget. The next version should be out in about a week or so. Perhaps that will fix the issue you're encountering.

The 'get it' button doesn't do anything for me (Windows 7 and Chrome). Also sometimes it doesn't update/receive tweetz when I'm behind the company proxy, whereas the next day it works flawlessly.

In general it runs when I start my laptop at home (no proxy) close the laptop lid (standby mode), goto work, open laptop, configure proxy and then it keeps working. If I shutdown the laptop, start it clean, configure proxy it doesn't work.

Help is on the way. I'm currently rewriting the gadget to address many concerns including sizing, fonts, new tweet indications, performance, error reporting etc. You can work around the sizing bug by going to the settings dialog and clicking OK. The new version will also have a nice but subtle way of indicating new tweets from old which should help you know "where to start" when reading your morning updates. I'm hoping to have a new beta version (2.0) in the next week or so. It's a lot of work, buy you're all worth it :)

hi sorry but v1.5 is just not working well for me, i had to go back to 1.2.7 its the best one imho.

The pullout window for tweeting messages is very buggy. it should slide away after sending which the enter key doesn't do btw.

And also when tweeting a new msg it still shows my old message from before (the one i typed last time i tweeted something). not blank.

and last bug, it doesn't update the number of letters as i move the cursor around like v1.2.7 did, or pressing backspace or delete. i have to press the spacebar or a letter only to update the number of letters in the bottom left corner.

sry but going back to v1.2.7 for now.

I'm also getting the problem with "Get Pin" button - doesn't do anything.
